Hi,

One of my old clients referred me to his friend and now I am doing SEO (link building). He has 2 words keywords which are very tough to rank. His own SEO employees cannot rank it. I ranked them and now he says if you got under 5th position then I will pay you $700. If you are on 2nd position then $900 and first $1100. I thought he is paying me for each keyword but yesterday on our telephonic conversation he said if you got all 5 kws on under 5th position then you will get many more projects he has around 49 websites.

Now I am confused. Should i charge him on keyword bases or all 5 keywords under $700, $900 and $1100 price. I am doing campaigns individually for each keyword and its continuous link building.

Do guide me gurus.

too cheap :|

check adwords keyword tool and multiply the CPC with 10% of the exact global monthly searches

I agree with you, but he doesnt want to risk losing the client. So I would explain how your billing structure works and that due to the misunderstanding your only going to charge xxx amount of dollars this month, but that you have to be very clear on how the billing works here on out.

Ok but should i charge 700 per keyword or for all 5.

It's depend on niche, if that very profitable niche like insurance, that is too cheap. Offer them 1k+.

Its not an online business. Online site targeting tourist for 1 day tour in the city.

Cant really advise on the rest of the question but i will say, Get EVERYTHING in writing.

It just looks like the kind of deal which can go bad.

Im not saying its a bad idea, im just saying you need to be careful, it looks like it can turn into a slippery slope.
