I want to document the beginning of my journey and tell you where I'm at right now, and a little bit about where I'm planning to go with this whole venture of creating a website from scratch.

A little background on me - I'm a full-time entrepreneur, and this is a project that will be a great 3rd stream of income for me. I don't consider myself really brilliant like I think many of you are, but I'm a good curator of ideas which has made me successful in my other enterprises. I hope the same philosophy will help with the website I'm creating. Before embarking on this quest, the deepest I've ever gone with website creation is using the GoDaddy, website builder. After procrastinating for like 5 years, I've decided it's time to up my content marketing game and build a profitable website from scratch...so here we go!

The project

Without getting into too many details, this is going to be a content site in the personal development niche. It is at the very beginning phases. Here is what I have so far:
  • Probably the most important point is that I have allied with a great content writer. He has some blogging experience and is a good friend who knows the niche I'm working with now
  • I have purchased what I think (and hope!) is a great domain name at a reasonable price from GoDaddy auction
  • Got my Wordpress, hosting and theme picked out
  • I have a guide that I stumbled across recently that I think will be quite useful; I probably would not have been able to set up the basics so quickly without it. It looks like it's a full training program that goes from the basics to some really advanced stuff, so I'm feeling confident about following it
  • Having a little background in email & SMM I have a lot of concrete ideas/skills around tripwires and other free content that I am going to use to build more traffic and keep users returning to the site. I learned a lot of stuff on how to build an audience already...now it's just the matter of building the site
The goal

I got a nice amount of time on my hands, so I'm going to invest it in building the site and hopefully have a lot of fun while doing it. My objective is to get this site to be doing at least $10K a month in the next 5 months. It's aggressive, but I think with the help of the BHW community and some other contacts I have I truly believe it to be realistic.

Good luck man! This seems overly ambitious, a little maybe, but hey! Can't get big if you don't dream big!
