I am totally new to torrents. I wanted to upload that e-book I posted earlier so I went and downloaded BitTorrent.

I created a torrent containing that e-book and a couple of other torrents creating some WM'd videos I put together.

I saved, uploaded, and seeded.

Is that all there is to it?

Normally that's all - yes!
Anyway it's important for the first days to seed the new torrent by yourself...
Maybe in a few day there are enough other seeders - but this depends on how popular the file is you are sharing...

Pretty much, Does your torrent have a green arrow in Bittorrent?
Also make sure that your router/firewall allows the port that Bittorrent uses.

That means its seeding. If you uploaded it to Piratebay or Mininova you can check how many times it was downloaded.

Thanks. I've upped your rep a bit.

I have three files. They all say 'seeding' and '100%', however the 'up arrows' next to each file are red.

I did upload to mininova (76 downloads so far), isohunt, bitenova, and torrent spy.

Are those red arrows OK?

Red Arrow = Not Seeding

Check your firewall/router config.
Make sure you did not move or delete the folder or file that you are trying to seed.

Did you add the correct Trackers to the torrent?

I suggest you use utorrent. I find it much easier to use.
