Hello everyone, my name is TorbenC.
I have been doing internet marketing in it's most primitive form for the past two years (very much on and off). I have spent the last full year learning C++ programming and working on various projects with that, but now it is time for me to start seriously doing IM. I am turning 18 in 3 months and I do not want to get a 9-5 job, so I decided it is time to treat IM as a full time job and hopefully I will have enough income daily to extinguish the need for a job.
My long term goal is $50.00 per a day, enough to live but hopefully it will grow larger than that once I start learning new methods, etc. I am currently a complete newbie at IM even with the knowledge I have (which is a fair amount, but not much). I am working with a partner, teaching him what I know and having him help out, half the work for half the money you know?
I do want to foreshadow a bit, this will not be a fast moving thread. I will update daily but don't expect every update to be immaculate progress with ooohs and ahhhs like on many other journey threads. This is mainly just for me to log my adventures so in a few years I can look back and have a good laugh.
Alright, so... About what I am doing. I am currently just finishing up my first referral network for a GPT site with my partner. This was a project to teach my partner the ropes and get me back into IM. I know that referring for a GPT site is somewhere around the slowest and lowest paying forms of making money in IM, but it serves a good purpose in getting back into the flow of things and provides a good "platform" to teach my partner what I know (not much).
For this small referral "network" we are creating 4 one page sites and 8 external articles. All the article writing and minor keyword research is done, 3/4 sites are created, now we are just releasing them all at certain times to in a sense leak it out to Google (also testing a little SEO method I came up with). A Facebook page has also been created and is used for backlinking and getting all articles and sites on Google rapidly.
So, that is where I am at right now (a few days worth of work due to the teaching aspects). It is late so no more progress will be made today however.
My first goal? $1 a day. It is a step in the right direction and a small enough goal so I may be able to reach it fast and feel very good about the progress I'm making. I am very motivated (the lack of desire in getting a 9-5 is one of the primary aspects of that motivation) and I know that I can do this.
So, starting tomorrow I'll probably do two update posts a day. One update post in the morning outlining my plan for what to do that day, and one update post in the evening stating what I had done that day. I'm going to try and keep it organized.
If you have any tips or questions on what I'm doing please don't hesitate to post, pm, or contact me on Skype. Like I said this is probably going to be a semi-slow moving thread so don't expect me to be making $20 by tomorrow! I'm still learning.
