built a cluster of about 15 supporting articles a few weeks ago around one main keyword and finally started seeing like 15-20% improvement in rankings. but it took way longer than expected. for those doing content clusters — how many pieces did it take before you saw real movement?

Usually around 20-30 pieces before I see real movement on competitive keywords, less on low competition niches. Patience is the hardest part, the gains tend to come in chunks not gradually.

yeah that’s pretty normal tbh. clusters almost never move fast unless the site already has authority. on a newer or mid authority site i usually don’t see real movement until there are at least 20-30 supporting pieces and they’re properly interlinked back to the pillar. sometimes even more if the keyword is competitive.

another thing is google doesn’t always process clusters immediately. sometimes it feels like nothing happens for a few weeks and then suddenly the whole group of pages shifts up together once the internal linking and topical relevance get picked up. 15 articles is a solid start though. if you keep expanding the cluster and tighten the internal links a bit more you’ll probably see another bump. also helps if a few of the supporting pages start picking up impressions themselves because that reinforces the topical authority signal.

tbh. consistent publishing for earlier this year is what moved the needle for me. no shortcut beats just showing up regularly with solid content. the beginning is the hardest part, it gets easier once you have some data to work with

I think after around 20-30 good articles I started seeing some movement in rankings.

Yea, same here, took me around 10-20 supporting articles before I saw real movement. Some keywords move slow, it can take few weeks to months. Keep adding quality content and internal linking, it helps.

Usually clusters start showing movement after you build enough topical depth often it takes more than just a few pieces and some time for Google to recognize the relevance.

In my experience, clusters start showing noticeable movement after around 10–20 well-linked supporting articles, but it also depends on content quality, internal linking, and competition, so sometimes it takes a bit longer before you see strong ranking impact.
