Is it a good idea to build topical authority for e-commerce websites? If yes, then

1. The e-commerce website has many categories. Need to build topical authority for every category page?
2. It is not possible to put all articles on the category page. Where to put all those articles? in the blog section?
3. Is it necessary to build topical authority for an E-commerce Website? It is a very time-consuming and long process as an E-commerce Website has many categories
4. Topical authority articles are mainly how-to informative articles. Then, traffic generated by these keywords must be informational and not transactional. Then how sales can be generated?
5. Is it a good idea to focus only on category and product page keyword optimization, ranking, and link building for driving sales?

Please guide.

not sure that topical authority is important for ecom sites, but...

1. The e-commerce website has many categories. Need to build topical authority for every category page?
yeah, that's definitely the case! If your site is a jack of all trades type of site then building topical authority for each category is probably the best way to go

2. It is not possible to put all articles on the category page. Where to put all those articles? in the blog section?
yes

3. Is it necessary to build topical authority for an E-commerce Website?
I don't think it's needed (but I'm not sure, so wait for someone else's reply on this)

4. Topical authority articles are mainly how-to informative articles. Then, traffic generated by these keywords must be informational and not transactional. Then how sales can be generated?
you link from the informational content (just not from every article) to the relevant category / product in your store. Or you put a link to your store in the sidebar / main menu of your blog (although, this is not ideal, I'm aware).

I think it's still better to put a CTA in your info articles every once in a while

as opposed to what? To optimizing your blog posts??

You'll want to do both, so you have to split your resources up so you can target both

  1. To be honest, trying to establish authority in every category may not be optimally effective. This approach could work if, for example, you have a sports website and are selling related items like shoes and socks.

  2. Consider utilizing the blog section of your website.

  3. While it's not mandatory, it can be effective. If your niche is 'sports,' it's a good idea to establish your site as an authoritative source on sports-related topics for Google.

  4. Topical Authority means convincing Google that your website is an expert on a specific subject. This involves not just providing how-to guides, but also explaining what things are, how they work, etc. The approach varies depending on the subject.

  5. It's beneficial to focus on all these factors.
