in my opinion these are the essencial ones:

MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer
Google XML Sitemaps
Dagon Design Sitemap Generator
WP Page-Navi
then, you have lots more to choose depending on what you want to do with wordpress!

My faves:
Redirection (essential)
Simple Tags (mass tag editing)
In Series (great way to create posts linked in a series)
Caffeinated Content (pulls Yahoo Answers into Posts/Comments)
Trota- do you still need MaxBlog Ping Optimizer with WP2.5? I thought they fixed the future post and saved pinging problems in the latest WP release.

I'd like to know if that's a feature they fixed goon cause if so I need to take my maxbping plug in out. I was under the same impression that 2.5 was still a wp ping problem.

Not to hijack the thread but 2.6 just came out today too guys. If anyone experiences any problems with upgrading and their plug ins maybe we should open a new thread. Fawk it I'll do it anyway.

Only thing Caffeinated Content is that in every post he adds a link back to the Caffeinated site. Is there way to get rid of this?

I got rid of the caffeinated link as well. I think it was a bug in the file you use to add additional links to your posts and comments. It automatically comes with his links in the sample file. After one of the updates, it pulled from the link file even if you didn't check the box. Easy fix is to change the links in the file or clear out the contents all together.

There are two text files in the one of the folders. called Link1.txt and link.txt. In there there are the links which you can edit or delete all together.
So;
1: Caffeinated
2: All in one SEO
3: Google XML Sitemaps
4: Feedburner

If you do it right (i.e. take the time to set up lots of multiple accounts and stuff), then AutoSocial Poster is the #1. If you don't do it right, it's worthless.
That said, I also really like:

All-in-One SEO
