When you look at some of the top sites on google like if you type microsoft, blackhatworld ect. you see some of their menu links also listed on google if it' the top site. What can you do to make google display these links for your site? Must be some tips to improve the chance of them getting shown?

You are asking about sitelinks. Quote from Google Webmaster Tools:
Sitelinks

Sitelinks are links to a site's interior pages. Not all sites have sitelinks. Google generates these links automatically, but you can remove sitelinks you don't want. www.example.com/ - 10k - Cached - Similar pages

Google has not generated any sitelinks for your site. Sitelinks are completely automated, and we show them only if we think they'll be useful to the user. If your site's structure doesn't allow our algorithms to find good sitelinks, or we don't think that the sitelinks are relevant to the user's query, we won't show them. However, we are always working to improve how we find and display sitelinks.

had much experience and have build great skills bound by various task encountered I can say I am much of what an SEO and Virtual Assistant should be.
Most likely, SEO skills I have gained the hard way, triumphing over Google updates and algorithm changes, the shifting sands of link building, and competing against SEOs with shadier tactics in my own

Thanks for that poisonivy O.o.

Apparently a way to get the sitelinks into Google is to build lots of traffic and backlinks to the pages you actually want to be displayed as sitelinks as Google, and give time to allow the changes to come into effect.

Just recently, Google released their new feature called Google Instant. It is an intriguing feature that changes the search results page even as you type while they are suggesting search queries for you.

I personally think that Google instant gives SEO specialists a better understanding of how important it is to be in the top ranks of search results. Now that Google instant is out, you have more chances of exposing your website if, and only if you?re in range of Google instant?s real-time results range.

As you can see in my screenshot (which is a full-screen screenshot, mind you) only a handful of websites will be able to expose themselves in Google instant?s real-time results. If I took a screenshot without the full-screen feature of Firefox, my guess would be it?s only going to be the top 3 who will get an impression to the searcher.

Since Google instant doesn?t affect rankings, it?s doesn?t pose any threat to change SEO methods and practices. But I think it is also safe to say that it will revolutionize the search game by creating an immediate awareness to businesses regarding just how powerful search has become in marketing out your company.

Thanks, wasn't sure what it was called. Could imagine, like you said, that getting a lot of backlinks to the subpages you want displayed would help. Might be more to it though.

Quite funny, I asked this question yesterday because the main site I have been working on a few months didn't have sitelinks yet. Today it suddenly had sitelinks without me doing anything.
Not quite the subpages I had been aiming for, some of the subpages got quite a bunch of external links pointing to them and aint on the sitelinks others with zero internal links are so that doesn't seem to be a major factor.
