Top properties post-penguin..............................

It looks like the flavor on the month as far as web properties has again changed with the winds of the last penguin update.

Share if any of you have noticed the value of web properties going up/down.

I'll share that I have noted that articles are about half as valuable in my latest SEO campaigns... looks like Google finally noticed that most BH use them a lot and devalued them.

Can't comment but you will have to power up your 2.0s with a lot of links. You can always power any type of link by pointing links to it.
 
My experience is it has nothing to do with the sites but how you are building the links from those sites.

Yes it will take longer as you have to diversify everything more which means more links. Has nothing to do with certain web 2.0s. I would have to say you need to stop using senuke and out of the box tools if you want to succeed any further in SEO. Shoaib, SEpuke right? lol
 
Like the above poster said, there aint no certain web 2.0's that give you a certain amount of boost in the serps, it's all about your diverse link structure and the kind of links you know point towards those web 2.0's.

However i'm having much more success using web 2.0's with 1000+ words, 3 pictures and a couple of videos and hitting those web 2.0's with minimal blog comments which are high page ranked.
 
Are you building these manually I assume?

Well it depends how you are building your properties. They are still effective but they have to be built differently and backlinked a bit differently than before.

But I agree, I think if you build them like everyone else, then they are devalued. But there are ways to build them so they stand out from what everyone else is doing.
 
There wasn't really a questions about web 2.0... So I try to answer the original question: From my point of web, private network posts are the best web properties post Penguin (were also before, together with public blog network posts which aren't effective anymore), than go web 2.0, than articles with manual submissions only (Like ezinearticles).
 
I did some random researching last week, I was very surprised to results in G for phen375 and few other markethealth products. Top rankings occupied with web 2.0's..

Well it depends on how private the blog networks are. If they are spammed to death then no they will not be as effective. The web 2.0 properties that are not being spammed to death by SEnuke are far more valuable but you have to use Zenno to automate that.

Also, you have to think of costs here. Private blog networks are extremely costly. Web 2.0 creation is not costly at all especially when you have it all completely automated.

If i can get the same benefit or even better at 1/20th the cost, then I would say it is a no brainer. Private blog networks are not going to rank you alone and most networks only allow 1-3 keywords. All my sites have 1,000s of anchors and each update I go up. Blog networks are easily traced unless it is your own network

Very large automated structures (where tier 1 goes across 200+ web 2.0 domains and tier 2 is at least 10k posts) work soooooo much better than this.

Do you scrape PR0 web 2.0s or do you have a minimum threshold?

I've read through a bunch of your posts about your automated structures and find your methodology fascinating. I've seen really old posts that mention Zennoposter, is that what you've used or have you coded a tool from scratch? I've been working on my own tool, but Zennoposter may be the way to go if it's that flexible.

Not true... people who say this are trying to scare others into not starting their own blog networks or simply don't know what they are talking about. I own a private blog network which helps me clean up my competition by ranking my own sites or those of small local businesses.

Owning a private blog network is not a matter of expense, but amount time required to maintain them.
 
The cost of starting your own private blog network isn't any more than Senuke lol... but as you said there's time, and there's the required expertise. Not everybody is capable of busting out a web template.

I am VERY suspicious of subscribing to private blog networks though because as we've seen, if G ever catches one you sure as heck don't wanna have most your site's high PR links coming from there. Scares the crap out of me. That's no problem if it is your OWN network that you just use for yourself and friends... but I fail to see how that's any different than a fake fan-site, or a fake review-site. Is it any different? Just a site out there with a lot of content on your subject that you farn PR into and then point to yourself. Right?

A 3rd point I'd like to raise is about those who say you can still use those same old web2.0's but just need either more content, or "different" content. What exactly do you mean...?

There is no way building a private blog network is easier then using zenno to completely automate your backlinking. Private blog networks are a bitch especially if you are to do them correctly. Not to mention they are costly like I said.

More content? I dont even know what you mean. Your content needs to be completely unique and you need to be using tons of different 2.0s for your first tier and then backing those up with tons more of 2.0s.

I think you are making it more difficult than it is.
 
I fully agree with you that private blog networks are costly and difficult to maintain/find. However, I would see it as a matter of ROI, not matter of expense... If I buy two good PN blasts per month (let's say $100 each, not speaking about some "private network" blasts for $20 sold here on BHW ) and the blasts help me to generate extra $400 on profit that month (or next one, really doesn't matter), than I am more than happy and it's much easy for a programing noob likie me when compared to messing up with Zenno...

Well I am as shitty as it comes to anything technical and I figured it out ;) Was a bitch but I figured it out. Of course it comes down to ROI but when you can build links for next to nothing and they in fact do work, I am not going to waste money on something that leaves a bigger footprint and costs more
 
I agree... making a bot would be great, but I don't personally have the cash/time/programming for making a Zenno bot either. I might have the cash soon... but even then I can't program, nor do I have weeks of free time to make a good bot. But I'd love to...

About content though... were they saying I needed to have articles that were longer, had more pictures with them, or were more readable and more unique? Or all 3?

Minimal is very broad term here on BHW)))) How much high PR comments per web2.0 url?
