best advice from all and even myself applies here and everywhere in life.
change is constant in order to stop changing you have to stop living and even then you will be changing.

just as well as when google changes their algo's and some sites loose their ranking others get the break they have been waiting / working for. The spoils go to those with their mouth open. So if you are constantly adjusting and relevant you are ready to stay in number 1 spot and/or earn the number 1 spot.

The biggest tips I can give you;

don't believe ANYONE....because frankly, nobody knows how Google works. If anyone here knew, they would be retired on a beach! Every single thing you will read is theory......

that said, there clearly are some things which work, and some things which work really well.

Read the basics, buy some test domains....have a play.

Don't expect that buying the latest whizz-bang SEO tool will be a ticket to instant riches.

Do have a strategy that combines great content with good links

what i have taken from this is the following :

1) dont stop trying
2) use usefull and quality content and backlinks
3) magpie knows his stuff!

Heres my own ten dos in SEO

1. Have your main keyword in the domain name
2. Get your on site SEO right
3. Use H1..H2..H3 Tags on your main keyword
4. Always use Alt description on images (always have a image)
5. Use Text decoration ..Bold..Italic..Underline for you main keyword
6. Have internal links
7. Link to a external site Google likes (Wikipedia) or another authority site.
8. Make sure all external links are no follow. Keep your link juice in house.
9. Have well written articles dont use articles that have been spun and are unreadable
10. Once you have done all that build links sensibly and mix them up social bookmarks, blogs, directories etc.

4) change is always going to happen, so work on multiple things
5) set goals and monitor stats.
6) use longtail keywords (littleg2008)
7) everyone is unique and comfortable with their own methods.
8) create as many footprints as possible
