Tools for managing/using private proxies and cleaning browser for proxies?

Is there a tool people use to clean up browsers and prep for using a proxy?

Or is there a tool for using and managing your private proxies in general?

I'm just trying to create web 2.0s for my site (everyone mentions using proxies)

I tried googling alot but most of the info about proxies is for non-seo stuff.
