Actually this brings up another question. Anyone ever gotten in trouble for using content from an expired domain?

The web archive and the Wayback machine are somewhat synonymous, so for all intents and purposes, you needn't make a differentiation between the two. The Wayback Machine is simply the name that Web Archive has given to their website, and is well known amongst individuals on the internet who have the desire to recover lost content or rebuild sites from the Wayback Machine.

Just tried the demo version of waybackmachinedownloader.... seems to work good.
Not sure about the second part of your question. As long as it's not duplicate and you think you won't get hit with copyright issues then go for it.
Was hoping for more clarification on the copyright thing though.

This reads very promisingly if only you could know old data about that link. Like BuzzSumo for expired domains. And grab that article that was really good in that blog that closed.
