Tool suggestions for a tool that can recreate a website

I am looking for a tool that can recreate a current live website. I read, a while back, about an AI tool that would take a website address and recreate the website and topics but have AI rewrite content around the same topic.

Did I hallucinate that or does it exist?

Any suggestions on what can do this?

HTTrack is the go-to for basic cloning — super easy to use and works well for static sites. If the site’s more dynamic or uses a lot of JS, you might need something like SiteSucker (for Mac) or just go manual with dev tools. Depends what you’re trying to do with the clone — reuse the layout, or the whole thing as-is?

Oh I know how to 1 to 1 copy, I am looking for a recreation that doesn't just use the original content. I could do it page by page manually but thought that someone would have created a tool to do it for me.

I thought there was a rewriter that would crawl a website and use AI to rewrite the content and spit it out to a pre made template / blog of some sort. I may have just dreamt this up.

Ah gotcha, yeah that makes more sense now. You're basically talking about a combo cloner + rewriter — scrape the structure, swap in fresh content. I don’t think there’s a perfect all-in-one tool for that (yet), but you might be able to piece it together with something like Screaming Frog to crawl, then run the content through an AI rewriter, and push it into a template with a script. Definitely feels like something someone should have built by now though lol
