Is this a problem if all my content pages besides category pages have 1 affiliate link per post over 1000s of posts?

pure affiliate problem?

I have visited multiple websites with affiliate links in all the posts, and they are ranking remarkably well.
You don't have to bother if your website is not new.

The links going out from your website typically won't cause your website any harm(SEO-wise) only links coming in.

Don't think that's the gist of what was being asked. I think the question was more about, will having an affiliate link in every post make Google think it's a "made for affiliates" site and therefore treat it differently?

I think it will depend on the way it's done and it wouldn't hurt to add some posts that just link out to authority sites if possible.

Oh, I guess I missed it.

Virtually all websites are made for profit, I don't there's anything wrong with having affiliate links on all posts. Consider big websites like CNet have affiliate links in most(if not all) of their posts.

But it would make more sense to have affiliate links in posts where necessary, not just spamming your website with links unnecessarily. Such links may never convert if not strategically placed in relevant posts.

It's safe unless it doesn't looks like naturally done.

I mean to say unless it is irrelevant links.

pages i have a SINGLE affiliate do not rank even for exact quote search yet category pages without any are found even without quotes.

even 1 affiliate link per page can be detrimental it seems

Your website is in sandbox and domain have low authority. Also your keywords have high competition. These are the reasons for exact quote not ranking.

but exact quote should not depend on ranking, it should pull it up since zero other SERP contain my string, hence its ZERO competition.

which it does for category pages, however not for posts containing the affiliate links

but affiliate links will obviously always be relevant to the content. this is what pure affiliates do.

google hates pure affiliates

No problem with that, make sure your article is not very promotional.

does it help to place affiliate links lower in the post rather than at beginning paragraph?

I think that would be a problem because you've mentioned all your pages will have an affiliate link.

This might be an issue, but it can be offset by the percentage of purely informative pages on your site.

If your ratio is somewhere between 85% informative and 15% commercial, then you should be okay.

Maybe the affiliate link in all your information pages is in the sidebar somewhere.

But if you only feature commercial content or all your pages are reviews, that may be riskier.

I'm not saying it's the kiss of death but the fact that you have an affiliate link on all your pages is something to be concerned about in light of the overall intent of your content.
