I'm sending my blog links to various search engines/directory submission and also creating manually backlinks on tumblr, reddit etc of my wordpress blog. Now, I'd ask if posting too many backlinks would be marked as spam by Google. I mean, if I copy many links and articles that redirect to my blog and start spamming on blogs, and web can be harm my blog and get a ban from Google? My articles on my blog are interesting and getting around 200-300 visits per day, so If I don't spam much around I think I can be safe.

If it is a wordpress blog then you can spam but go slow with it.

build links very slowly and you will do good.

Just be careful!
If you are building them by your self, document everything in case you need to remove the links.
And actually there is no rule on how much backlinks is to much, you can ruin a new site with only 100 crappy backlinks (happened to me).
The bottom line if you build hq backlinks there are never enough!

I've basically a computer and internet blog as niche which gives users tutorials and useful stuff. So, sharing links on other blogs, forums, web directories should be ok? I mean, I'm giving people useful stuff not spammy links..

spam is to do with the quality and intent of the links. you can have say 1,000 links. in one scenario they could be 1,000 blog comments each the exact same comment, this would be spam. in another scenario you could have 1,000 links from article sites with the same article but spun, this would also be spammed. in the final scenario you could have 1,000 links from various sources which all have good quality unique and relevant content, this would not be spam.

You can't have too many backlinks unless they are spammy. But if it is a churn and burn site, you can't have too many spammy links. Your rankings are dependent on them, and the site will still get penalised eventually.

Ok I will post few backlinks, I'll try to wok on SEO instead for the blog, that's better way.

Make sure that you post backlinks on high authority sites, because that's how Google will be ranking you to determine whether it's spam or not. Just recently a website backlinking from YouMoz was blocked for "violating Google quality guidlines." So make sure you build quality backlinks, cause as Matt Cutts puts it:"if a site A links to spammy sites, that can affect site A's reputation." Also make sure to spread it over time, and don't blast all at once.

Don't get too many links (Over Optimization) try build the links slowly then it looks more natural.

Super, this is a very technical and complicated question. The only way to know if Google see's your backlinks as spam is to perform an in-depth link analysis. The best tool to analyze this data is with http://www.linkresearchtools.com/plan-details/ I use it all the time for my clients. If you need, PM me and I'll be more than happy to run your site through and analyze it. :)

If it's an important site, try to be somewhat consistent with backlink building. 10k links one week and nothing next week looks unnatural. like another poster mentioned, go for quality > quantity if possible.

links are good but you should not spam them to death. Like totally copying the articles and then using them for link building would harm your main blog. so dont do that..

yes, too many backlinks may get you flagged as spam if you are using any tool or software to create backlinks. When a brand new website ends up getting a few hundred thousand links, that just seems unnatural to search engines. This is what the spammers do anyway, so search engines are a bit careful.

Go slow and try to be natural when you build links. Don't focus much on quantity, instead go for quality links.

You can have a plenty of back link to your website that is no issue but all the links should be relevant to your web irrelevant link is can be consider as spam link. it will be easily found by Google and you get notification that remove all your irrelevant. even after you will be having that in your site, your site might be penalized...
