Please make trial versions of your programs available. Make them fully functional with a trial period of at least 2 days. I don't want to spend $50 - $100+ on a product that I'm unsure I will be able to make profit with.

More people will be willing to buy your products if they are 100% positive they can make money using them. A fully functional trial period will give potential buyers that kind of assurance.

If you are referring to the tools sold here on BHW you can be assured that they go through deep testing before hitting the market. Plus you can see what other users such as yourself say about the software.

On the other hand the effect of such tool really depends on how well you use it otherwise you can get them all and gain nothing from it.

I'm not just referring to programs sold on here.

I'm not saying they need a trial period just so people can see that they work. I think there should be a trial period so that people can see results, which will make them much more comfortable spending money on the product.

For example, I want to try scrapebox, but I don't want to pay for it without knowing it will help me make a decent amount of money. If I could try it out first, and make some money, I'd gladly pay for it. I'm sort of new to IM and not sure how much traffic I'll be able to drive to my sites with it.

    Zorse,

Sure your request from a consumer perspective is fair, but its not fair for a developer.

    Why?

A trial with full functionality means that the user is equipped with a software with functioning code. Which means any bright and decent cracker will find a way to route off the trial mechanism.

Scrapebox has more than a 2 day learning curve. Powerful tools may have a week learning curve and that's just for really basic use.

Here's my advice and what i usually stick to when it comes to buying products.

    1) I do my research on it. Find out what it does See if others have had good results on it or bad results.

    2) if it's a new product I will simply wait for some reviews to come through not paid or ass kissing reviews though. Simple and honest ones.

I usually stick to those 2 rules and it's worked out pretty well. ;)

No matter what everybody "guarantees" you, tools sold on forums basically the black market generally (unfortunately I must say being a coder myself) come with no warranty. Just for the sake of clarity. YTA anyone? lol

Sellers come and vanish if they assess the trouble to upgrade is more than they bother working on or if they made enough money with what they're selling. It happened before, it'll happen again and again. The testing before being put on BST is just that: testing that ONE or A FEW guys done at a very specific time: this implies 0 as in z-e-r-o guarantees you'll receive updates or that the program will continue working or anything.

Giving a full timed version equals giving you the program for free if you know anything about reversing, so that's ofc not gonna happen. Maybe a TeamViewer presentation at launch time might be a more professional way to deal with a new offer where applicable. But here's a nugget. Most time making money involves some risk, for little that it might be because the forum tries to do its best to preserve the environment and weed out any scammer promptly, buying on a forum is always a risk and always will be.

Having said that, if you are afraid of buying without getting the standard 1-year warranty this might not be the appropriate market where to shop. Not trying to be harsh, just saying... HTH

Both from the buyer and developer perspective i honestly don't think there is much of added value in a trial version.

From developer perspective trial version = more time invested into coding = higher cost on the product.

From buyer perspective trial version cant replace a good video tutorial. After all you don't buy software to experiment, you buy it for specific task. And whether the program is able to perform that task or not can be easily figured out from the video.
