Long time lurker & noob here looking for a little guidance.
So I have a motoring blog that I'm considering siloing as an effort to not only better organize the site to improve user experience but also hoping to get a traffic boost out of it. We cover aftermarket tuners pretty extensively on our blog and our current category structure is organized by Aftermarket Tuner brand and also Vehicle Make.
So a blog post at the moment can be found in the Aftermarket Tuner brands category and also the Vehicle Make category. IE: SampleCarSite.com/Brabus & Via SampleCarSite.com/Mercedes-Benz
From what I understand with Siloing I should keep all posts directly under only a single category and those posts should only link to other posts within the same category.
Being we'd prefer to be relevant to Google for being an Aftermarket Tuner blog is it safe to say we should no longer associate future posts to the Vehicle Make category?
Also what should be done with past posts that are linking to both the Aftermarket Tuner and the Vehicle Make? We have 5+ years worth of posts.
TIA for any feedback.
