i never ping over 50 urls / site / day.

Its like to open the fire hose and have no control about the water coming out of it

If you have a totally huge number of backlinks, i would say don't ping all of them. Especially if you do xrumer blast and ping all of them, you might risk getting sandboxed.
I would prefer a profile backlink in authority sites with a good PR, they will get indexed eventually.

you only ping RSS feeds, not any other type of document.

You can ping anything. The point is you want to get google to crawl it.

Less links + ping == more money in your pocket.

Pinging alone doesn't seem to work very well for me. I don't do it anymore. Most of the time I have to create some extra web 2.0 properties, publish a few spinned articles with my profile links in the mix. Submit your web 2.0 properties to a few social bookmarking sites and you're done. Another thing that might help is to customize as much as possible your profile links. Add as much content / info as possible because Google doesn't like empty pages with no value.

OK, if you don't want to ping them because of "too many links too fast" reason or don't have the mas pinger tools, maybe you can do this.

1. Put your links on blogspot post(s), and just ping that blog post.
and/or
2. Paste your links to links2Rss and post the links2Rss feed URLs on a blogspot blog. Then ping the blogspot blog.
Adding spun article on those blog post (as webmast said) is a great idea.
