This is meant to relight the wick of hope for you, in a kind of roundabout and perverse way

If you dont like long-winded boring anecdotes, theres a keyboard shortcut that'll get you free...

Im new to IM. I can see its hard - like sales is hard if you want to bank, only more so. You need more skills and knowledge than any MBA. Its a great business and its opened my eyes enormously. So much so that I feel like im new to the web since I started with IM. Having just consumed it pretty happily and mindlessly for years, I now 'get it.' Its pretty much all just publishing (and services around that) - both commercial and vanity.

My IM epiphany actually came last summer courtesy of my wife who was reading a post about successful online businesses - Jeremy Palmer, the PoF guy & others we'd never heard of.
But especially a 62 year old grandmother who makes whatever million online every year (heres her story - www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2006/feb/12/news.theobserver1)

In her womanly way she asked me over to check something on her laptop, with the webpage open.
    I read
    I looked up
    She looked back
    "Its pretty humbling - and I think professionally a bit embarrasing isn't it" I said..."that I have not ..."

(I blame education. Better to be smart than clever)

So heres the point. I don't think anything is over. Its a tech-bubble now. Things may tighten. There may be a crash. The strong hands are weeding out the weak. There are still waves to ride - it just may not be the one you thought to catch. Who knows whats possible, or what is to come?

    Never give up on yourself
