To all PAKISTANI IMers out there

HBL Bank account i am using and Payooner Master Card works fine on MCB ATM ;)

UBL is much better , but you need to pay RS 250 extra on each online transaction

That sucks :(

SC is the best. UBL is also good but as Seo Lover said you have to pay 250 Rupees extra as well as before making your online transaction you have to call them for taking time. They will give you the time (round about 1 hour) and you have to complete your transaction in that given hour.

Thanks everyone.
Looks like Standard Chartered is the way to go... I heard Citibank is good too but too bad the nearest branch from my residence is about 90 km away.

So to all of you using SC, you use their VISA debit card or some Credit Card?

Citi Bank is too costly and you will found very few branches all over country .

I am currently using ubl !! and they are good enough!! they give you visa credit card ! and it is accepted everywhere! except paypal !

I think I'm going with Standard Chartered.
They have a branch near where I'll be living in Islamabad (for college) so once I shift there, I'll open an account.

@silentkill3r
I can't afford to pay PKR 250 for every online transaction I do considering I have to make even 10 transactions on busy days.

Thanks everyone for suggestions so far.

Anyone tried MCB / Askari / HBL?
How are those for online transactions / internet banking?

I am using paypal in pakistan and then transfer money to payoneer card after that cashout using mcb or standard chartered bank atm. For online payment everywhere paypal is acceptable so this is not a matter for me because i have verified paypal with unlimited withdraw etc no limited to 500$ per month withdraw. Some people says that you have to use vpn for paypal i am opening paypal from pakistani ip and buying and selling through this account. My paypal account is two years old.

Standard charted is best. I also have a Payoneer debit card and it works best for online transactions although it is a little bit expensive.

I'm using HBL....They're really Good! Never tried standard chartered though... :p

Now that has got me interested as HBL is like 5 minutes away from my place.

Have you ever tried buying some stuff online like on Clickbank / 2checkout? Does it work? If it does, do they charge any fee for international/online transactions?

Thanks.

Nope...I used it for buying products within the country!

Didn't try to buy any product from 2CO/CB/Ebay,etc. with it....

But I think it'll work...As they do support Internet Shopping!

U can find more details in FAQs section of their site: http://www.hbl.com/individual-customers-creditcards-faq.php

btw, if its that nearer to your place, then my suggestion is to definitely go with HBL!

HBL is not working for internet shopping... You have to apply for a Credit Card for Internet Shopping I think ... It's Debit Card is not working for online shopping... I tried several times and and asked on helpline they say you not able to use HBL debit card online...

ya...HBL CC is required! I've already gave link to their FAQ about their CC...!

I'm using HBL too. But thinking of switching to Standard Chartered as well. Surprised at the number of Pakistanis here, never thought there would be this many people. Eid Mubarak in advance to all! =)

UBL has a range of prepaid internet debit cards that you can use. called the teen internet visa or something. on these cards there is no per-transaction fee and no chutiyapa about informing them before making a transaction. (Who comes up with shit like this anyway :p)

the only catch is that different people have had different experiences using the card. some say it fails on most sites, but i have used it and works fine for me, but does fail occasionally. so one can say that it is kind of un-dependable. but handy to keep one in the arsenal as they are so easy and cheap to get. but definitely not a robust solution

i was wondering, why dont we create a paki group or like a mastermind or something here on BHW, get a bunch of people with some decent experience, and pool our resources together. would be a great place to bounce off ideas and shit, maybe try out JV's and make some mad stacks and what not?

That's a nice idea, techcrunked. I don't know how such a group works on bhw, but yeah it could be quite beneficial for all the pakistanis on this forum.

I'm trying to get rid of this payoneer card as this is on my dad's name.

I'm not from Pakistan nor am I here to suggest a bank for you.
I need to ask a question regarding the statement you mentioned above. What's wrong with having a payoneer card under someone else's name, or in your situation, your parent's name?

Thanks in advance.
