Alright, if you buy aged domains you probably know that with GoDaddy you can see the original creation date of the domain, unfortunately my favorite registrar NameCheap does not support this feature. So aged domains look like brand new domains in NameCheap's control panel which in my opinion is a bit annoying as I like to see the original creation date without having to do a whois search on the domain. In order to get NameCheap to implement such a feature we need as many people as possible to support this idea, I have therefore created a thread on their forum, but there has been no updates since.

yeah but does it really matter?
 
I use a little bookmarket in my browser to do a whois search. All you have to do is go to a domain, and press the button. I hope this helps someone.

I know there are easy ways and maybe it's not as important but I still think that the original creation date should be shown rather than when the domain was transfered over to NameCheap. It just doesn't feel right and I find it a bit annoying to see a 10 year old domain show it has been registered in 2012 when in fact it wasn't. What if they screw up in the long term and the original date changes?

PS. I was asking for feedback on NameCheap Forums in the URL mentioned above.

If you have to ask... basically I only use GoDaddy for their domain marketplace. Other then that it's shit.

Telling nc you want them to start emulating the scummy things godaddy does seems ill-advised.

Well it makes sense. If the domain was registered in 1999 and hasn't been dropped, then the original whois data should be used, rather than a date of when the domain was transfered to NameCheap.

Is the original registration date more useful to me or the date when the domain was moved to NameCheap?

I think most people couldn't care less when the domain was transferred whereas the original registration date is more useful.
