To add or not to add to webmaster tools?

I heard that ranking works best if you don't add your website to G Analytics or G Webmaster tools, can anyone testify to this? thanks

I never test it. But I know if you add WMT & Analytics G will index you really fast.

I've added many of my websites to WMT and I can say it worked for me, though I do not use Analytics . When website get penalized at least you know what is going on.

If you add your PBN to webmaster tools, they could theoretically punish you. But I don't know if Google really does that.

There are a lot of alternatives for Analytics, so you don't necessarily have to use that. But Google's Webmaster Tools is irreplaceable.

As other guys told you if you are building a PBN adding to G Webmaster tools is like asking them catch me and put me in jail! So what site are you talking about?

I use both as well and I have never had issues getting ranked. Webmaster tools is important to submit and keep tabs on your site map plus with a combo of Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools , Piwik, Bing webmaster tools you can make a best guess at those annoying "not provied" keywords.

I'm saying this but I have not employed a lot of Black Hat into my sites.

I've inadvertently tested this before. I had a site before that ranked top 5 for a 2k searches/mth keyword within two months (that was last year though). I decided not to add it to GWT when I started the site and it ranked within record time. None of my niche sites had ever ranked that fast.

I have never heard this, and I have been on my own with building websites. I don't have money and played around with WordPress since 2010, but never had money for paid hosting, then just recently got setup for Bizspark free for 3 years for being a college graduate. So I got $200 Azure monthly credit for my website. With all the time with changing websites and using free hosting, and searching online for information of setting up website the best way. I still never heard such a thing. I have read it is best to setup GWT and GA. If you don't, you probably wait forever and never get traffic to your site.

I don't really use any Black Hat or White Hat techniques.

Its all upto you, adding or not adding doesnt affect your rankings, the only rule of thumb being, if you are engaging in seo, then dont add all of your sites, or even more than one site on a single webmasters account.
