Hi all,
I changed my homepage title nearly 2 weeks ago,was on page 1 of google for my 2 main keywords. My serps the following day were destroyed for my 2 keywords, homepage disappeared from serps for about a week, currently on page 5!.I am doing ok for my longer tail keywords.
In a panic I started researching this and found that you should not mess(at least not too much!) with an existing title tag if you are doing ok in the serps(site is approx 6mths old),it can be very damaging to the results as I have now found out.
Originally I had my site name in the title tag,I removed this to make room for a few more characters but kept my primary keyword at the start. My question is should I return to the original title or leave the new one,any advice would be appreciated,I continue to build backlinks in the mean time anyway.
Thanks
