keep running into guardrails with chatgpt and gemini lately.

im trying to write follow up messages for clients who are backing out, but whenever i ask the AI to be persuasive and push them to stay, it triggers a safety filter and says it cant do it.

anybody got recs for open source models (like llama/uncensored stuff) or tools that actually work for sales copy without crying about ethics every 2 seconds?

thanks in advance

For normal sales copy I’d keep the message focused on value rather than trying to bypass safety filters

For more control you can also try local open source models but quality and setup will vary

@rtmplyw if you are using the web interface of chatgpt that is why you keep hitting walls. the system prompts on the frontend are super sensitive now. try openrouter instead and look for dolphin-mixtral or l3-8b-instruct-uncensored. they do not care about "manipulative" sales copy at all. or if you want to stick to gpt4 just use the API playground and set the system prompt to say it is a fictional roleplay for training purposes. usually bypasses the safety filters without needing to host anything locally.

Thank you for the advice, i will try this.

Well, I have noticed that ethics thing pop up on the app version of ChatGPT as well. For me, I sorted that out by changing my phrases without altering the intention and logic. Try Perplexity

if you want actual good copy without the lobotomy, try deepseek v3 on their platform or via openrouter. it is dirt cheap and doesn't cry about ethics when you ask it to be persuasive or slightly aggressive. cohere command r is also solid for business stuff and doesn't preachy-block you like claude or chatgpt web do. running local models is cool but unless you have a beefy gpu the quality drop on smaller uncensored models makes the copy sound kinda robotic anyway.
