I am so tired of being over charged for internet that is way below average. I feel like I am being robbed. There are other internet providers charging LESS and providing almost DOUBLE the internet speed

I have tried everything to get in contact with TWC but they do not care about just one customer. So I made an online petition and hopefully, if i get 10,000 signatures, I will show TWC and they will take action.

How much you pay every month? Here in Europe for $15 / monthly you get a decent internet, like it downloads around 2 GB per hour or so.. it might not be blazing fast but it's just okay.. just wondering about the US prices

There are unfortunately no ISPs close enough to my residence. Also, it isnt the advertised numbers. I get 20/1 if im lucky, and being a live streamer, I need the upload speed.
 
I feel the same way about Comcast. I called them up and get refunds often. Call them.
 
I pay 30 euros for 35 MB connection but it also includes free calls for local numbers.

That is why they don't care about your rant because there's no competition. 1Mbps is too low even to stream in normal 720p when the world already started moving toward 4k streaming. Try 3G/4G USB Dongles if you've coverage in your area.
 
I have TWC, i pay $35 for their standard package which is 15mbps up and 5 down , im getting on average of 40+mbps up and 5 down on a wired connection. Its more than double what im paying for, im more than satisfied.
I had verizon before, and we were paying $20 for 1mbps up and like 500kb down, and the best upgrade option i had was a 3mbps package for like $30-$40, time warner cable is not that bad compared to verizon.

In my area the standard package is 15mbps down and 1mbps up. The cheapest package in my area with 5 up is $55 a month and that is an introductory price.
I also have TWC and I've had it up to my eyeballs with the crappy customer service and total lack of other options. When I call with a problem that is on their end I don't want them to spend more time trying to up-sell me then they do actually addressing the problem. It doesn't help when the internet dies while I'm in a trade and I'm losing money while they try to squeeze me for more money!
I remember one of the arguments for the Comcast merger was that the ISPs were intentionally not competing so merging two wouldn't make the situation worse. Where I'm from we call that price fixing even if the lawyers can weasel word their way out of it.

I wish you every bit of luck, a friend of mine who lives in ireland has this same problem, he lives in an area with no competition so his provider are screwing people
 
I think that's the case with pretty much everyone in the states. We overpay for internet by a huge margin compared to the rest of the world.
 
There is really only 2 things one can do if the internet is horrible in their area. Either move to a location where you can get better internet, or if there is enough interest in your area create an Internet Co-op to bring good internet to the area.
 
I pay around 60 bucks for a telephone line with 400 minutes to spend plus 3mb/down 1mb/up. How you call this?, terrorism?

That sucks, i do live in Los Angeles/ in a high populated area so im sure that plays a role in the speeds im getting.
Lucky for you i heard some talks yesterday about net neutrality from Obama, which would limit these companies from providing slower speeds and basically extorting you for more money for faster speeds among other things,

Net Neutrality would just prevent companies from slowing down traffic from certain sources, not affect the rates they change for service.
 
I've recently heard about this new internet service called HughesNet. Supposedly they offer 15 mb download,
not sure about the upload speed.

I don't know what their service is like but they've been doing a lot of advertising on TV lately.

You should check them out if you're unsatisfied with your current service.
