Tired of $2 offer from AC

Ok so I finally have figured out that doing item review articles seems to be about the only way to guarantee an upfront payment from AC, my articles are hand written and very good SEO wise but only when i do them on one type of product do they get accepted (i am obviously not stating which product it is incase most products do not get accepted)

So then why am I only making $2 per article, I am not hoping to get rich but I need to make at least $3 - $4 per article to survive. I tried to branch out and cover some other things and do product reviews other then the one type of item that is working for me as the average CPC for adsense is only $1 on this type of item,so I tried doing a review for a laptop and a camcorder, here is the actual titles:

"Archos Gmini 402 a 20 GB Camcorder and Multimedia Player Review"
"Dell Inspiron 1750 - I1750 5772OBK Product Review"

Both rejected for "content did not qualify for an Upfront Payment offer because the topic is not specific enough in scope to be discoverable" well can anyone please tell me why? Was it that the terms aren't searched enough? If all I can make is $2 per article then so be it, until things turn around for me I will write 40 articles a day, i don't mind hard work but things would be so much better if I could squeeze another buck or two out of them. And I hate it when 50% of my work gets rejected.

And before you suggest the other post on this forum on how to find a niche save your time, tried it, did EXACTLY what it said and went 0 for 6 on being accepted for upfront payment.

Really?

AC is a scam. They pay you $2 for a solid article, then turn around and make $10/month on it forever. Think thats good?

Here's a tip, do a little keyword research, find a niche, write a few articles and put them on your own blog and then blast out a few hundred backlinks to it with social software and eventually you will have $2/week forever.

my thoughts exactly - if you're writing quality articles keep it for yourself or sell it independently. You can sell a good 250+ article for like $4-5 independently, compared to giving it for $2 at AC.

If you just created an article blog, you could slap some adsense and make a few cents which will eventually add up to more than you made selling the article. AC is best used for when you want backlinks since people take articles from there - just rinse and link stuff a rewritten PLR article and spam it to AC and see if they accept it. If they do you made an easy $2, if they don't at least you have the links in there.

Thats right. Feed those jerk offs at AC crap articles, get the links off them, point to your quality blog and start siphoning traffic. Do the same at Bukisa, maybe others.

Ohh dont get me wrong, i am coming off of a 2 month and 220 website blitz that was supposed to kick my adsense into gear, however due to so many niche sites getting taken down by google its been tough going, i am doing AC just to get by.

Why are your sites being taken down? Are you getting de-indexed or sandboxed?

They're definitely not a scam. Their business model is set up to make them longterm profit on your submitted content, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Many people in the "made $30" thread are starting right out with $3.50, $4.00 and even some $5.00 upfronts, with mine averaging $6.00-$7.50 after months of publishing. I don't consider myself as being "scammed" one bit. Just because an article is "solid" or has SEO used doesn't mean it's going to be a good article for use specifically with AC.

There's two distinct approaches a person can take with their content. Quick money through sites like AC/freelance article flipping etc, or slower money with the potential to make more over time. Both approaches are good in their own way depending on a persons needs.

To get back to the point, it's pretty well known AC isn't a scam.

You can try using niche/keyword tools, this really helps. You can also try going to top tech sites (or other niche sites) and spinning recent articles. I always get at least $4 offers for my articles when I write for them, mostly due (I think) to the fact that when I started out, I wrote hundreds of articles on random ass topics, and had a basis to see what paid the most etc., that way I sort of have starting points. Tech has always been really good to me with AC.

There was a thread somewhere, with some code you could put in google, and see what the most viewed articles on Ezine Articles were, this would be a good starting point, as ones with a lot of views are likely to be pretty hot long term niches. Sorry to be so vague about this 'code', but it's been a long time since I heard about it, maybe someone else knows what I'm on about.

Also anything pertaining to upcoming events/holidays is going to be hot. I really don't think it would be too early to start throwing Valentine's Day crap at em. New Year's for sure.

Use Google Trends.

How-To's are always hot, you can spin a lot of subject matter into a 'how to' situation, if you think about it.

Articles on celebrities are good long term, you might not get a lot for them because of saturation, but anytime something happens with said celebrity, you'll get a lot of pageviews on your article, over time it adds up. If you're having a writer's block, go to TMZ and pop one off about someone on the front page.

This is all I can think of right now, I used to do a lot of AC. I wanted to get to the point where I had so many articles in that I had some good passive income monthly for doing nothing, but I just don't have the time. I still think it's a great place, and I'll go submit now and then for shits and giggles. I'll probably take it up again later. I still get about fifteen bucks a month off em. I get $4-6 offers from AC doing product reviews. You just need to do products that are new and haven't been done on AC yet. AC bases your pay on many things more than just the artices SEO, such as your previous view count on older articles. Doing some backlinking to your AC articles is certainly effective, although I have tools for it already and if you don't it might not be cost effective for you.

Maybe scam is too harsh of a word. Lets just say its a business model that is tipped overtly to the owners and not the content producers.

If you notice when you have an article rejected, the site sends you a message saying something like; "AC is trying to build a library of unique content however, your article does not meet the standard. You may either revise it and resubmit for upfront payments or you may publish it as display rights only"

So basically the article isn't good enough for an upfront, but they will take it anyway if you are too lazy to spend more time on it, cause they know even garbage articles or ones that have the same topic as others in their library will still make money for them.

I write for only adsense sharing sites now cause thats a fair business model.

And they still make you money as well with the performance payouts. No one is forcing you to use AC, if you don't like it make your own site with your own articles. AC just is a place that many people find useful rather than spending the time to build a niche website they can just pump out a few articles in their free time, and get them onto AC.

Infact your motto of giving them crap is probably what has caused them to offer you low still even on good articles. Your upfront payments build up over time as you keep giving them quality.

Unless you have 10,000 articles on AC, I notice 1000 uv takes a long time to get even with promotion so somehow I don't think the PPV's will equal the adsense over time, but hey each to their own. The going rate is closer to $20/1000 uv at one of the newer adsense sharing article sites.

I just think its a better strategy to build your own real estate than someone else's for long term value.

And to the poster above the post I was replying to (multiquote not working for me) - I have WAY less than 10000 articles. Honestly, I have way less than 100 articles and it didn't take me a month to get up to 1000 views.

Honestly, most people know it's not a long term deal, but it's good for quick money when you need an extra bit of cash for this or that.

From the (little) experience I've had, AC does like reviews on very specific items because they generally get less competition - just keep your topics as unique as possible, if they are being declined because of a poor chance to be discovered, then you might need to make the keyword density higher.
@Tygrus lol anything on the internet can be taken as a scam, without ripping you off most of them wouldn't be able to survive. But AC is probably the best option for those really in need of short term cash - they pay much faster than Ad*ense.

Reviews are the only thing that get upfronts. I got a $5+ upfront for a gardening article on a brand new account. It was my first article published on the account. It was a how to article. A*C loves how to's.

^^^ congrats for the $5 upfront with that account right off the bat, but reviews definitely aren't the only thing that get upfronts.
