[tips] Ranking Pictures in Google Images

Very common practice for me, but great advice for those not optimizing images. It helps with on page optimization as well, not just Image Rank. It should be implemented on every page for best SEO results.

You should also add an image sitemap, and use the title tag too.

In my experience, larger pictures rank higher. 1000 x 1500 original will rank better than a 300 x 400 file.
Images posted to high PR web2 sites like hubpages, wordpress, etc. easily outrank those on own domains.

2. Use keyword in alt tags. Don't keyword stuff it like they used to say to do back in the day, make it real. "keyword header" "picture of keyword", though I'll use "buy keyword" sometimes too. And of course, make sure you have the width and height of the image.

Are you saying to put the width and height of the image in the alt tag?
