Tips how to start vlogging?

Hello,
My wife is making nails and I was thinking her to start vlogging on youtube.
Does anyone have any tips how to get started, how to get first followers etc?
Are there any ways to rank the youtube videos better so we can get views/followers?

Any advices are welcomed!

focus more on content.. make short and sweet content.people don't like to watch long content until & unless you have good no. of fans..
trye to promote videos using social media..

Should we get in touch with some influencers to share our videos at beginning for a kickstart?
 
1, ask if she wants to do it.start making videos,edit them, load it up with keywords, share with friends,social networks etc gain momentum

And create different users to rate and comment on your videos, it will help you in establishing your reputation as well
 
if you want make easy cash you need long videos to put 5 - 6 ads when you got traffic.
 
vlog is for people with a huge audience... Once you get thousands and thousands of followers, people will engage with you going to the park before you say how to make an awesome -your content here-.
But till there, people will not follow you as much as you would like, simply because nobody knows you yet.

Well, the best way to start is to just do it. Use your phone to record and don’t worry about equipment at the beginning. Also, since I saw that you’re wondering whether you should contact influencers — just don’t. Most of them aren’t going to respond, and that will just hurt your chances at getting to know them at a later date. Instead, you can try building the channel organically from the ground up by associating with other smaller YouTubers. Small YouTube is great!

What do you mean by associating with small youtubers? How does that work?
 
If your wife is hot, you need not to do anything, just put a video on youtube. If she is not, you need some extraordinary content and boosters for first video.

She will be making nails not stripping lol. Is there any way we can boost first videos? I posted in this section as some of you are pros in making money from ranking new videos.
We will be happy only if they rank well so they can get some views, no need to monetize anything, at least for now.
 
Social Media would be the best medium to gain your first followers.
Invest some time into pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. Read methods how to gain followers over them from the making money section to get some idea.
 
Start with TikTok. It's only 15sec vines so it's easy to act and once build confidence you can move to YouTube.
 
If shes just making nails then its not vlogging, shes basically educating or showing tips on how to. There's a difference there. Its not easy to get known real quick on youtuve like many have said. You have to either be very attractive, very smart, very funny, very unique to get known pretty quick. makeup tutorials get good views if the person is good, even better if they re attractive. Maybe she can start by showing her face if shes attractive, talking to the camera about what she will be doing ect before actually doing the nails. Engaging with audience is important.
