Hi everyone. I worked for 5 years doing websites and designs for freelancer. I am pretty new with blogging but I quite see a good future in it but stuck up with how to monetize my blog. All your help is greatly appreciated

You can monetize it with AdSense or Affiliations. So, I like select monetizzation method before open a Blog.
In this way I can figure out how much I can earn before spend/waste time or money in content creation/outsourcing.

Adsense is best way to monetize your blog and once you see roll of traffic in your blog you can go for sponsor posts, buy advertising slots. You do need to get tons of traffic first, there are lots of way to monetize blog if you have got traffic and a good niche.

Yes this can is great idea but OP needs few months to have 100/200 contact in the list.

It honestly depends on what your short-term goals are. Do you want to use your blog's content to sell YOUR product or do you want to sell someone else's product via your blog?

In both cases, it can be a very time consuming process to make any noteworthy return.

If you want to sell a product that is not your own, a couple of monetization techniques could come into play. Some might work for your blog, others don't - there is a lot of trial and error.
1. Affiliate (clickbank, skimlinks, amazon [they even have a great shop system which you can easily implement for free])
2. PPC (Adwords, Chitika)
3. sponsored posts / reviews (linkworth, seedingup, weavemade)

You can generate income from it with AdSense or Connections. So, I like choose monetizzation technique before start a Weblog.
In this way I can determine how much I can generate before spend/waste time or cash in material creation/outsourcing.
