[TIP] Get your website indexed in 17 seconds.

I usually just tweet out my new urls as well as share them on Facebook and stuff. Usually gets them indexed in a day or two. It helps if you also update your sitemap and submit it to GWT.

When you fetch your site in google webmaster it indexes your pages almost instantly. But it doesn't crawl the pages completely yet (meta descriptions etc...) , so my theory about this function is that you tell google that you want that page indexed, and later they crawl it and rank it based on on-page SEO & off-page SEO. I don't think it's considered a blackhat technique.
 
I find creating a sitemap of my site and submitting it to Google gets my new sites indexed almost immediately.
 
Sitemaps are great but might take time, Google Plus seems to be the fastest way combined with other social shares. If id does not index it right away for some reason, submitting the URL the old fashion way works great too. A note about large sitemaps, they tend to get processed a bit more slower so watch the size if possible
 
A good tip OP. I'm actually surprised more people didn't know this. I thought this was standard information when it comes to SEO...

Never heard of it. Interesting.

I've always against "forcing" Google to crawl your website. I would rather have it found on it's own, naturally. That's just my opinion.
 
Indexing our main sites is never a problem for SEO guys. The main concern is indexing the hundreds or thousands of backlinks they create for their websites. Getting it indexed is the main problem for which so many link indexing services exist in the market.
