So far its only being tested in select markets ( I presume LA , NY...etc but mobile VPN could probably work to trick it ) and allows anyone to get the celebrity only blue verified tick if you just do some poses to confirm you're you. As far as the majority of the world is concerned the blue tick on Tinder still means you're a celebrity.
If you ever plan to use Tinder to sell something or use it somehow for business purposes this is probably the best time to do it as you could get 100s of matches with people not only trusting you by default but also being very interested in anything that you say or do just because of the " clout ". This will probably work for a good year or so before Tinder rolls it out worldwide and the plain foils when everyone gets that Blue tick.
( Realistically they are doing this to collect facial recognition data )
