As an internet marketer do you think that it would be a good idea to learn programming (ie. Php + mysql) or is it not worth the time and its better to outsource programming as im doing now?

And yes i knew that ofc it gives you an advantahe but again is it worth the time investment?

Absolutely worth the time especially if you are a quick learner. My roots are development and I've become an internet marketer later in my career. Not only will it give you an advantage in IM but to have those extra skills will make you more valuable in general.

IMO, all you need to do is HTML/CSS and some very basic PHP to manage your templates. You can always use ubot/zenno or outsource programmers at a pretty reasonable price. Programming takes practice too and has to be constantly applied (to make bots etc) to actually benefit you.

FuryKyle is right. Programming is hard. Well, at least doing it proficiently is.

That said, you can learn just enough to make you dangerous. Or put another way, have it as a hobby. It will come in handy for little scripts that will save you hours. More importantly though, knowing a bit about programming will come in handy when you are trying to evaluate people for any work (local or outsourced) that you might have handy.

If you are starting from scratch, focus on making money. It takes years of constant practice to become a master programmer, plus it is a lot of work to keep your skills 'current', as technology on the web changes .

How much practice at html does it take to get good? I've started learning some of the basic and it seems fun so far.
