So I have been lurking here for a while. I see others take massive action and get places.

I have made all the excuses in the world not to call. I have had enough.
Using: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...03-offline-niche-list-best-niches-target.html

I will be going to yellowpages and prospecting.

My services: SEO
Goal: Set appointment, go to appointment to close.
Software: Using Google Voice. I was worried about not having the local number but fuck it. That is a minor detail. No more excuses.

Make a 100 phone calls by next week.

Its game on.

Good luck, keep us informed how you get on. Are you going to use a script or just wing it?

Good job man. I'm going to start my business real soon. Let me know how Google Voice goes for you, I might get the app for my phone so I never miss a potential meeting/sale.

Should be getting through more than a 100 by next work if your working at it 9-5. You need to hit it HARD to get a good response cold calling. Good luck, be confident and prepare for questions you might get asked.

Yeah you can do like 100 cold calls a day easily

I think you could easily do more. you just have to develop a good sense of how your chances are to get a meeting early into the call. if you dont feel it hang up fast but nice and on to the next one. guess this will come with experience..

Day 1:

Calls Made: 0

I live half way around the world so my timing is 14 hours apart from back home in Ontario. That is the reason I can't do the 9-5. I got about 2 hours max if I wake up early or sleep late. I am trying to do this while I work full time in Asia. I have a friend back home who will go close the deals. I have worked with him for 4 years on offline web projects. So decided to give it a go.

Disappointed in myself. Faced major anxiety and buckled. I have done this before many times but every time I go to the phone, get major anxiety.

just do it, no reason to feel anxiety, they cant hurt you if youre sitting on the other side of the planet ;)

My first day of cold calling. I was anxious too man, I saw your thread this morning and it inspired me. I got 2 motherfuckin yesses and 3 maybes out of 12 calls. No one got mad at me. I'm doin the dougie.

I made up a short as possible one-sentence opening script. If they declined, I said thanks for your time anyway I appreciate it. I know you're not supposed to do that. But hey. I live in a small town and I would rather my brand name get out there and if they see me in the future remember a pleasant experience on the phone, not me haggling them.

I'm not any different than you are man, and on top of it, I woke up sick as holy fuck and was making calls between hacking and blowing my nose. You can do it!

Wow. Much needed inspiration.

I just read the Go For No! book and am pretty set now. Have to get my magic jack going. I thought google voice was free but it is now charging me.

Goal: Get 100 no's.

So in the book, Go for No, the author emphasizes how one should focus on getting no's. This way you can keep at it until you get a yes. The prime example he gives is of a child wanting a cooking. Regardless of how many times his mother says "No", he keeps asking her. After about 15 "No's", the mother caves in.

Now I teach English in Asia and just had a bunch of kids beg me for some toys. Literally for 30 minutes non stop. I kept saying No. They never gave up. They kept pushing. I finally caved.

I just learned my sales inspiration from my kids.

Now to put it in practice.

If a salesman kept asking me to say yes over and over i would just hang up!
Be brief but state the benefits and how it can help there business you should be able to tell after a minute or so if there is any interest at all, if not next call.
