Time sensitive advice req: Fan invites.

Ok, so what's the deal with fan invites? If you select say, 1000 people to send the invite to, will it actually go out to 1000 people?

Also, these fan page invites (assuming they do all go out) only appear on the "home" tab of your profile, not on the wall. With that in mind, wouldn't it be quicker, easier and more effective to simply create a note on your profile with a link and a short message about the page? This way it appears right on your friends' respective walls, not buried under a pile of fucking mafia wars invites.

I'm wanting to trade fan page invites with folks but I can't see the benefit of spending 45 minutes selecting 3.5K friends to invite to a fan page especially if there is no guarantee they will receive the invites. Posting as a note on your own profile seems smarter.

What's everyone's opinion?

When someone joins a fanpage, it is posted to their profile + newsfeed.

Invites appear on the invites page.
 
Never mind - sorted the invites issue myself.

Dunno if this has been posted before but it works... I used it about 30 seconds ago with all 2.3K invitations sent:

Procedure -

copy this: javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

Become a fan of the page you want to suggest to your friends.

Click the "suggest to friends" button. A box will open. Ignore this box for the time being.

Click on the address bar on the browser tab behind the box. Clear it and paste the above javascipt into the address bar.

Left click on the address bar (to deselect it) and press enter

The box will highlight all of your friends automatically. When they are all selected, press the invite button and wait for confirmation that all invites have been sent.

All done. Easy.
 
The mass invite code does not work properly...

Does it select all your friends - YES
Do all your friends recieve an invite - NO

I tried it a couple of days ago, selecting around 3500 friends. The script will select all your friends and you will get the message saying 'Your invitations have been sent' but only a small percentage of those invites will be recieved.

Normally after sending invites manually to.. lets say 40 people... their names + faces will be grayed out in the friend invites box, so if all 3500 invites were sent out I should see 3500 greyed out faces, but there were maybe only an extra 30 or 40 that were greyed out. Under normal circumstances the persons face will go back to normal if they reject your invite... I seriously doubt that 3560 people rejected the invite in such a small amount of time.

I know some invites were sucessfuly recieved because my fanpage recieved a small influx of new fans (all friends).

If this Mass invite technique worked before, it certainly doesnt work now. Facebook seems to have throttled the amount of invites that can be sent at once.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Weird.

I sent out 1340 invites, but 253 were not greyed out. I just sent manual invites to 40 of them.

I wonder if running the mass invite code over the friends list once per day would eventually see all of the invites sent?

I think just few friends gets invites...

Maybe the better way is make a lists of friends about 500 each? so 10 lists if you have 5k friends.

Couse then you have a lists, you can filter your friends by it and then see select all button.

Maybe someone have other ideas? Because "select all" java script won't work anymore. I'l try it past few days with 15k friends. Facebook shows that invites was sent, but nobody gets invites. I think this it facebook upgrade against spammers.

Before few weeks everything was perfect, but not now :(((

Im pretty sure the max invites that can be sent at once is between 30 and 40..I saw a post about it and thats what FaceBook replied with..!
 
freedomwriter454, i don;t think so. Because just 30-40 invites would be not logical step by facebook. Normal FB user had about 100-200 friends, so if he want invite friends to his group or page, max 30-40 invites would be not logical. And everyone be very very angry on FB
 
In another hand, if FB add limit of inivtations, i think we see it. Example like now, they wrote that limit is 5000.

It is - most definitely. It appears that FB has an algorithm which limits the amount of friend invites someone can send to a particular fan page or group (or application for that matter). Specifically, the less fans a page has and the lower the post quality, the fewer friend invites can be sent to that page through an individual personal account. The reverse is also true. If you have a massively viral page with a very active fan base (comments, likes, etc.) and high post quality, then you can invite more people to it.

Interestingly, FB will apparently be lifting this restriction for apps in the near future - maybe May 2010? App developers are bitching that they cannot mass invite to their apps. So this may give us a backdoor by creating basic apps pages instead of fan pages. Something to prepare for.

FB are stupid. Businesses really have no incentive to get a facebook presence because they cannot easily publicise their page. Therefore, they have even less incentive to purchase ads because the return on investment is not there. Who's gonna click on an ad and join a fan page with only 10 fans?
 
Not weird, that code only selects the visible users, so there users that you can see on the invite page. So you have to click next and do this for each set of users.

with opera i see all 5k users in one page, and script select them all. Everything was perfect week ago, they all get invites. But till this saturday i try do ir millions times, with all browser, diferent code's and etc... no result. FB writes that they send invites, but nobody gets it..

Yes weird, because there is a counter that tells me how many are selected. I have on one account 2331 friends and the counter in the box said 2331 were selected. For the record, I'm using Opera too.
 
My fan page is bussiness company. Its about 2 weeks old with 10k fans with quality post and coments. I don;t do any CPA or other stuff... Its real page.

And i have about 5 brand new account with REAL 3-5k friends.. It won't work.
So i think the problem is a code. Couse then i select 200 friends manualy its work!

Any ideas?

Everytime I use this blasted javascript code, my page gets deleted pretty damn quickly. I'm starting to think that this code is cursed, hah. FB has started recognizing it. Anyone else have this trouble?
 
drumcrazy, I have used this code several times and have yet to have a page deleted (touch on wood)

Perhaps it is the content of your pages that are causing their deletion, or perhaps one of your 'friends' keeps reporting the page.
 
Is there any other solutions as to inviting friends then?

- There's the Request Form... which only allows 8 invites.
- Then you can suggest to the user to goto Wall > Suggest To Friends and use the JS browser code.
- And there's the Share Button which posts right onto their wall...

Which one is the most effective? And, is there a better method that I may be missing?
 
Ok I think I worked this one out.

I noticed a similar issue, I use the javascript hack to highlight all, and send invitations. If you click back immediately you see it has not sent all the invites.

However this looks like a lag in Facebooks system. If I log on 30 minutes later I see that all the invites have successfully been sent.

Im not sure if i believe that they have an algorithm blocking invites. Could be wrong though.
