I’ve noticed that many people targeting TikTok markets like the US/UK recommend using a new phone and setting everything up from scratch.

I’m wondering if this can be replaced by using an emulator instead.

Is using an emulator viable for managing TikTok accounts, or does it get flagged easily? If not recommended, what are the main reasons?

Would appreciate insights from anyone with experience.

Emulators work for viewing/scraping but not for account operations at any real scale — TikTok's device verification checks for emulator artifacts specifically: IMEI patterns (emulators use 000000... or sequential ranges), missing gyroscope/barometer sensors, NAT network stack instead of cellular, and build.prop indicators like ro.product.manufacturer=Genymotion. MuMu and LDPlayer patch some of these but TikTok's security SDK still catches them on account-sensitive actions (posting, monetization, US/UK region enforcement). For US/UK targeting you need a real device with a local SIM or mobile proxy from that region — even a $30-40 used Android handles it better than any patched emulator.

I also have the same question: how can I upload content that many people in the UK and US like and follow?

For IOS users; you will have to create a new Apple ID using a US proxy. Then download TikTok, and the reach should start to how US audience.
