TikTok Shop Engineered Social Proof

I've been selling on TTS for almost 2 years now. GMV Max has RUINED it. It's the most insane money grab of all time. But, what can we do...?

Very long story short, I just launched a new store and even though I'm spending money on GMV Max with almost 200 creatives in the first week, I'm getting a .22 ROAS lmfaoooo!!

It's a complete waist of money, but I want to try one more thing, that I used to do in Nov 2023 on TTS. Since TikTok shows the amount sold, that is a important form of social proof. I was thinking that I could order a bunch myself to raise the amount sold = more trust from consumer and TTS...

Get a bunch of tiktok accounts on something like accmarket, set up a bunch privacy cards, purchase the product using a discount on proxies.

Has anyone does something like that recently?

Ordering your own products used to help with social proof back in 2023, but now TikTok’s algorithm seems to catch on faster, so it’s risky and might not even boost trust like before. I have been trying bundling my product with a trending low-cost item and co-promoting both, so the algorithm picks up cross-interest traffic. It’s cheaper, fresh, and builds real traction instead of just buying impressions
