Yeah, I tested posting 3–4 times a day recently and noticed the same pattern. One video randomly hit around 20k views while the others stayed under 1k. From what I’ve seen, TikTok still pushes each video to a small test audience first. If the watch time and engagement are good, it expands to a bigger audience. If not, it basically dies early.
Posting multiple times per day can also split the initial testing window. Sometimes the algorithm ends up prioritizing one post and the rest get very little distribution. Lately I’ve had better results posting 1–2 strong videos per day instead of 4 average ones and spacing them several hours apart.
So yeah, the “random spike” is usually just one video passing the engagement test while the others don’t.
