Tiktok can be banned in USA?

I read a news today that Nikki Haley is calling for banning tiktok in USA due to privacy concerns.
There are lots of contributors and marketers earning with tiktok so is it fair to suddenly shut down such a large platform?
Privacy is very important but shouldn't be it (privacy) taken care from starting instead of applying rules for it after a platform has gathered a lots of sensitive data already?
What BHW marketers think about this?

I agree with your perspective. I think TikTok and other platforms are no different. I don't understand why there's a constant focus on privacy and security issues. Facebook and Instagram operate on the same logic.
 
It relates to political stuffs as well. And I also feel unfair for US users bc it's potential platform to promote many offers

The main problem is that TikTok is operated by a chinese company. The vast amount of young peoples' attention that TikTok captures is dangerous. A bad actor can influence an entire demographic, this is why legislators consider TikTok an intelligence asset, rightfully so.
 
Hopefully this won't happen. hmm it's really unfair to do that

first lines on media about banning tiktok were while trump was a president, calm down
 
I highly doubt it will be banned, maybe tiktok will have to change some of the security in their app to make it safe for US users
