I might be a bit older than this new generation but to me Tiktok was an apocalypse in itself from the beginning.

Tiktok looks like just another ridiculous video app to me.
What's so good about it? It has filters to add shit to people's faces? What's so good about it?
Why is everyone suddenly using this app? Doesn't seem special to me at all.

I am with @bartosimpsonio on this one, I mainly use Facebook and Twitter. I do have an Instagram account I rarely check and use it to check on my overseas family that relocated due to the political, social, and economical situation in my country.
I don´t even have an account on Snapchat, EVER!
The moment TikTok launched the first thought that popped into my head was "here we go again".
And there are other apps I am starting to see people use like Tapebook and QQ.
As stated before on this thread, I am literally worried about the younger generations getting access to these mind-numbing phone apps that are causing so much more harm than good.

If its banned in US then its game over for TikTok in regards to global ambitions. It will lose more than half of its users with India and US combined.

Would also be blocked for monetization in the West if the US blocks it.
So yeah, for anyone making money off tictok it'd mean the end.

The Tiktok Apocalypse perfectly describes the world situation with this application. Tick-Tock has taken over the world, especially the children's audience, and what seems to be wrong with it? This malicious program collects a lot of information about users that it can then use for its purposes, such as targeted advertising. Some countries have already announced that Tick-Tock malware is malicious and is trying to put pressure on developers to improve their privacy and security policies. Only pressure from the authorities will help correct this situation.

FB has its reels in testing, Youtube has a similar thing its running test on. They need to buy some time and when better to launch it(fb reels US launch early august?) Ban the competitors and get out your thing and promote the shit out of it. We all know it as we would love to do the same thing ourselves if it was possible.
I don't mess with social media on a personal level, but from a marketer's view I love it.
But I really don't like how it influences the evolution of humanity.
Good news can spread fast and people can have a voice, but it focuses on the most absurd things due to humans influencing the algorithm that way

Those two are entirely different. The emphasis is on entertainment on TikTok mostly for the young crowd, on Linkedin it's professional relations for an older audience. You can promote successfully on both.
