Is anyone else noticing that TikTok’s algorithm has been acting a little “off” lately? Some videos with low-quality content are blowing up while polished videos barely move. Do you think it’s a shift in how they measure engagement, or just random push testing?

Yeah, it's been weird lately. Looks like TikTok's rewarding content that sparks quick reactions, even if it's low quality. Might be testing for virality over production could just be short-term data experiments.

Definitely noticed. TikTok seems to be favoring raw, relatable content over polished stuff lately probably testing new signals like watch time and quick reactions. Could be a tweak or just them experimenting with what sticks.

I feel like it has to do with AI, since it’s now so easy to make polished “perfect” content, now people are preferring raw emotion and storytelling that they can see comes from a real person

For me, posting really high-quality videos doesn’t matter on all platforms. The main thing that matters everywhere is engagement, the more engagement you get, the more growth and views your account will have

TikTok is testing algorithm changes to prioritize viral, fast-engaging videos over perfect product quality.
Or they have updated the way they evaluate real interactions (views, watch time, comments), making “common” videos easier to promote if they respond quickly.

It could be that they are rolling out an update this week aswell. Some agencies we are with said the same thing when they post the videos, but this is something that can happen when they roll out new updates.
