TikTok Account Journey Starting From Zero

Hello folks!


Some background information: I have been running multiple TikTok accounts since early January 2020. I have created accounts and tested third party accounts to accumulate data, recognize how the TikTok system works, try to establish as well as one possibly can to figure out how the algorithm works without actually being able to look under the hood. Of course, never an exact science.

I have now decided to completely abandon my first accounts, create new accounts from scratch and start applying what I've learnt and test my theories in practice.

I will be sharing my TikTok journey and experiments in this thread.


There will be multiple TikTok experiments.


My purpose is to create multiple niche accounts. I only start accounts in which I already have a mid to long term monetisation strategy in place. I'm not doing this to gain as many followers as I can and then have a big yet useless account. I will be using multiple metrics to rate the accounts, their success and potential return on investment (ROI). More about this in later entries.


Every account I start will follow the same approach:

1. identify a niche
2. research what content does well in this niche
3. create a content strategy based on your findings
4. reverse-engineer viral content in said niche
5. create own content (original content*) or find content (non-original content**)
6. build an audience for said niche and stick to the theme of the niche (don't go off-topic)
7. hit certain targets using metrics (more about this later on)
8. once targets are hit, start experimenting with monetisation

There is two types of experiments I will be running:

1. category #1: creating brand-new TikTok accounts from scratch only uploading 'original content'
2. category #2: creating brand-new TikTok accounts from scratch using only 'non-original content'

More information will be added on a daily and weekly basis. I will be providing information on the experiments I'm running, statistics, data and more. I value my privacy greatly, so I will not be sharing any URLs to any of these accounts. I'm not here trying to sell anyone anything, I'm trying to share some of the things I learnt, and at the same time, a real-time journey of multiple TikTok accounts.

I too have 3 tiktok accounts. that I started 9 days ago. 1 video that went viral. 20.6k views(which is not that big, but it brought me around 500 followers in 2 days ). in one account. I'm still learning and analyzing my accounts. because i literally don't know what I have to exactly do in order to grow them at a stable pace. i see some pages that have just started and yet they get thousands of followers in one day. looking forward to learning from u. Entry #1.

For starters, I will ONLY focus on accounts in the FIRST category as mentioned in the OP. Meaning: only 'original content'. I intend to start multiple niche accounts using only 'original content' before I start experimenting with 'non-original content.'

Important to know: all the posted content will adhere to the TikTok community guidelines. I have read these over 25 times by now and almost know them by heart. In other words, none of these accounts will be in violation of current TikTok community guidelines.


General information on 'account #1':

• Account niche: comedy
• F/UF strategy: none (not manual, no automatisation)
• Hashtag strategy: 1 brand hashtag, 2-3 relevant and broad hashtags, 1-2 specific and narrow hashtags
• Intended audience: very broad demographic audience
• Target of this account: create varied and wide follower-base (this account will focus more on 'numbers' than the others accounts, see explanation below)
• Content creation strategy: original content only
• Posting strategy: minimally 1x per day, ideally up to 2 times a day
• Input/output strategy: minimal input for maximal output (see below)
• Monetisation strategy: it will be a long term 'brand' account, then used to push services and later on products

Setup information on 'account #1':

• account creation date: 20/02/2020
• created account, browsed TikTok for about 20-35 minutes as a 'normal user'
• followed certain famous users, '14 following', liked videos at random (about 25-65; not by spamming!), read comments, liked comments, ...)
• added a picture and a bio, changed username, changed name on the account
• then waited for almost 24 hours to post the first video (this was intentionally)

Entry #2.

I will update the stats on 'account #1' as I go. Sometimes this will be daily, sometimes it will not be daily.
I also intend to update with more information once I create the 2nd, 3rd accounts and so on.

Remark for previous updates: I'm removing the 'initial date' of the creation of the account because it's confusing for people.
I created the account and started posting the second day. To keep my data more accurate, I now count the time starting from the posting of the first video.
This might seem a minor detail to most, but if you intend to run 5-10+X accounts at the same time, it's easy to get data confused.
