Tier one

Hi,

I want to create a few high quality tier one's for my e-commerce site. Kind of a dual goal here in that I want to get targeted leads and also pass on the juice.

What is the best platform for up to five Tier One's. Should I use wordpress on five completely different hosts? Could one be a squidoo page? Ideally I would like to keep the costs down.

Web 2.0 Properties with unique articles would work good if you want to keep the costs down.

Ok, I am so new at this that I still have that "new car smell".

Wordpress is a web 2.0, right? Is it better to host it myself?

Wordpress.com is a web 2.0 site. The advantage is you can create free, self-hosted blogs on a high authority type site. The downside is that you do not own it. So, if you write a spammy post laden with affiliate links, it may get deleted by the mods. If you write quality, engaging content then this is less likely.

You can create your own high PR blog network, but ideally each of the sites will need to be hosted on separate C Class IP's. So, the upside is you can post what you want, but there are costs involved with buying high PR domains and hosting.
