Tier Link Questions

Hi,

The site structure is usually like this: Tier 3 > Tier 2 > Tier 1 > Money site

But nowadays, Tier 2 & Tier 3 seem less important.

If I only build Tier 1 (it maybe hard), is it better than building Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3?

Another question, the main function of SEO tools is checking your competitor's backlink so that you can build your backlink to those discover backlinks?

Why do tier 2 and 3 seem less important?

If you think about why you might, you'll probably come up with your own answer.

SEO tools cover a range of functions. They aren't just limited to link discovery. Just like cooking tools aren't all used for frying.

What I am trying to say is if I build many Tier 2 and Tier 3 links, the result is not as good as building some Tier 1 links.

If it can, I would like to find an optimum such as 1 Tier 1 = 100 Tier 2 = 500 Tier 3?

Any opinions?
 
Why are you building tier 1 links?

What difference is there between a wordpress site linking to a money site and a wordpress site linking to a wordpress site? Answer - none.

The reason to build tier 2 and 3 links is that unless you do, your tier 1 links have no power. Just like your money site has no power until you link other sites to it.

The optimum is as many as possible to each tier.
 
a "wordpress site" unless you're talking about a "wordpress.com" blog is just a normal site. Unless you mean "wordpress.com" blog, then, my friend it is not comparable to a true Tier 1 link.

A tier 1 link can have plenty of "power" with or without tier 2-tier 3 links built to it. The whole tiering tactic is is pretty questionable these days.

How about building Tier 1 links to your Tier 1 links? Then Tier 1 links to those?

Know this, today, if the link building technique is available freely to just anyone to do, that link is close to worthless. Tier 2 and Tier 3 links are generally comment spam, forum signatures, social bookmarks, and various web 2.0 properties. These have very little value these days and you would be much better served building high quality content that naturally draws linkage from other high quality sites.

For those of us who have Amazon affiliate sites, it really doesn't matter how great our content is in regards to getting backlinks, as none of our competitors are ever going to link to our content, so we have to build links ourselves.

You are obviously correct that great content on a highly trusted domain is the best backlink type to get, but not everyone can afford those links, so the only option is cheap tiered links, and they do have an effect or people wouldn't be using them.

I agree with you.

Therefore, my question is:

if I only build Tier 1 link (readable content), is it better than building Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 as Tier 2, Tier 3 links are spam...

Here is my humble opinion on the matter.

Your tier 1 links should always be quality, relevant, and manually written. Irrelevant of whether you are building a tier 2 or not.

Then you have a choice.
Do you build a tier 2 to power up your tier 1?

Well why not?

What harm will some web 2.0s with spun readable relevant content do?
Even if they only give a little boost, it's still a little boost.

Then why not build a tier 3 of blog comments to power up the tier 2 web 2.0s?

Even if they only give it a little boost it's still a little boost. Which then gives a further boost to your tier 1s. Which then gives a further boost to your money site.

Build as many quality links as you can, as fast as you can. You will never get trouble for having a lot of quality links.

Then use 2.0's as buffers between your quality links and GSA. Again, don't worry about ratio. Your quality links won't get penalised for having 2.0's pointing at them. And even if one day they did, which is unlikely, then you have full control over the 2.0's to remove the links anyway.

Hi, thanks for your advice.

How about the sequence? Should I build one Tier 1 link and then Tier 2/ Tier 3 links?

Or I should first build 100 Tier 1 links and then Tier 2/ Tier 3 links?

Is it better to use different ip per 5 Tier 1 links or same ip per 5 Tier 1 links? Or any suggestions?

It doesn't matter what order you build them in, but you need links from as many ip's as possible.
Try not to build links from the same ip if possible
 
well, there is a point of diminishing returns as you go down the tiers,

You are likely going to be spending more time and energy into your Tier 1 than your 2 or 3, but as Poker said, "why not build tier 2 and 3?" You should be spending an exponetially less amount of time on the lower tier sites. One could argue a 50-30-20% split, but depending on your ability to create quality content for your tier 1 sites you may spend more of a 70-20-10% split for your time. As for amount, more is more, but of course content is king, so building tier 1 sites are going to be the most beneficial to you. Good luck with your venture.

How about the ratio of no follow to do follow links? Is it 60%(no follow) to 40%(do follow)? Or?

I also want to know if I buy advertisement from some relevant websites. Can I set the link to do follow link so that I can get the link juice from that relevant websites?

Finally, I hire someone to write article for me. I want to know if an article has approximately 1000 words. How many anchor text (percentage) is good?

You're worrying way too much about small details. Anchor text ratio in articles etc. Just write a good natural article. Google will know what it is about.

Also, build as many high-quality do-follow links as possible. You can get cheap social bookmarks etc as no-follow links, but don't worry about the ratio. Just build them

It maybe my final question, is it better to write an article with only text? or text and pics?
 
Both.

Better user experience, and google also ranks images.

Make sure that the keyword that you are targeting is in the alt text of the image
