Hi So I have a 'money' site that is basically a autoblog with a bit of a twist.

I'm not expecting to get great SE traffic to it. Strategy is to drive traffic from Social media.

Having said that i'm doing some linkbuilding, just to learn the ropes really.

I'm thinking of setting up a wordpress.com blog that autoposts a subset of the content of my main site. This will create backlinks to my main site. If I then do 'aggressive' linkbuilding to the wordpress.com site to build the PR that will be passed back to my main site?

And if I get it wrong and the wordpress.com never gets PR because of my bad SEO then at least it doesn't harm my main site. Am I basically getting this right?

I know in a ideal world these tier 1 sites would be on my own domains, but I am just starting out and trying to keep things cheap until I have some clue about what works and what doesn't

I got a wordpress.com site banned before for autoposting too much too it. But I have a couple of other sites where i autopost about once a day that seem to be OK.

So

1. Is one autopost a day to wordpress.com the limit? Could I get away with two? four a day?

2. Is it even worth doing this?

Thanks

Piper

Bump. Anyone? Worth bothering with wordpress.com? Or should I try blogger?

You can do it with any web 2.0 such wordpress, blogger or tumblr. But you have to let them age a few weeks before starting to get links from them. The first weeks you have to build content (manual if possible) and then start backlinking (automated).

I would also advice you to build more than 1 blog. Build tens or hundreds of properties.

OK great thanks. I have done a .tumblr and a livejournal already..

Best way to avoid banning would be going with wordpress.org

Wordpress.com is pretty tough, it should be treated like a money site with lots of good content, thin sites get taken down .
