This may be common sense... but, if I am to direct some 2.0's and guest posts I can control as tier 1's and blast hard straight to these and link toxicity becomes an issue, do I only need to disavow/remove these links to clean up profile?

In theory all you need to do is remove the links to your money site. Depends on what kind of penalty your money site gets though. An algorithmic penalty would be fixed by removing the links. A manual/spam penalty would require a disavow.

The safest way would be to send these links to a secondary domain which you 301 redirect to your primary one. So, if your site is penalized, you could remove the redirect.
