I am writing from Taiwan... we're next on the menu for China. My hope is simply that some will learn to think for themselves, and to question authority and propaganda. The West is hardly innocent too. Those of you here who are so moved it would be great if you could promote the stats on things that you feel for. Or think of your own and upload them (that way you can use the friend referral software).

Where are you in Taiwan? Taipei?
I'm in Kunming, which is not really that for from teebeet.
Shangri-La is near here, and last month I was in Di Ching when they moved the army back into that area.

I guess I am just a bit cynical, because I think the world knows the problem, but nobody wants to give up their cheap products.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about them, it's even worse here for F*lun G*ng people than Tibetans.
I do hope China will start treating it's own people better.
And I agree that the West is also not innocent. The difference is in most othe countries they can vote the worst of the worst out in a few years.
In China nobody can vote for anything unless they're a member of the CCP.

tibet has been the frontlines of Americas invasion into China for decades, the cia has been recruiting for many years in that area (period)
Been to Taipei many many times, and think the Taiwanese people are smarter than to hold on to western ways. Taiwan is strong enough to say America we dont need you anymore and say Taiwan is Independant from USA.
If you keep thinking that America wants to help you; think again, USA wants to invade China and cares less if Taipei gets blow out of the water in the process, being your country will be another tool for the advancement of western imperialism and global domination. Keep preaching your needs and you'll get them like Iraq did its democracy. Basically bombing Taiwan centuries back into the stone age in technology and killing half your nation.
You should watch out cause these last few months of the bush administration wants to prolong his term in office indefiniately and needs a major conflict to do so. All this tibet crap as steered the media away from antiwar protests locally here (not that they ever showed them anyway)
America (over here) is the most repressed society in the world, we are not free! The media is strong and one-sided to one political doctrine of global war. We the people here are slaves. You dont want to be like this country, you should make Taiwan independent and truely free from oppression....

That's actually a tactic that typefies CCP and party mind control influenced debating.
Point fingers and make ad hominem attacks rather than dealing with the issue at hand.
The fact is that Tibetans are not ethnically Chinese (not Hanzu, for sure). Then again, neither are the DaiZu, Minzu, Izu, or any of the other conquered nationalities.
Tibetans don't, and haven't historically used Chinese characters, even.
The truth is that China needed to occupy tibet for it's resources and as a buffer to British Imperialism via India.
And no Chinese person can make a reasonable case for Tibet being part of China.
The same of Taiwan. The logic with Taiwan is that Chinese people live in Taiwan, therefore Taiwan is China.
And nobody has been taught logic in Mainland China, so they aren't resistant to this kind of nonsense.
You can tell someone a rat is a mammal and a boy is a mammal therefore a boy is a rat, and most people here wouldn't be able to reasonably argue against that.
And finally anyone that thinks that either the US or China want to invade the other is a kook.
Both countries enjoy a symbiotic relationship where the rich and powerful are becoming more rich and powerful.
It's like being a Mafia don. Your worst enemy isn't the other mafia don in the next town - it's the people directly under you and the people you're taxing that pose the greatest threat to you.
So you and the other guy manufacture crisis after crisis to keep your own people in line, while you both laugh all the way to the bank at their expense.
I don't support the American war in Iraq, and I am not a fan of George Bush. That being said, we weren't talking about Iraq or George Bush, the post was about Tibet, and they are a colonized nation, and they are facing cultural genocide.
And I have an extra room in my house here in China for any commie-philes who want to come visit and have an open enough mind to realize that you are experiencing China as a priveleged white (or whatever) person, and not as the lady selling potatoes on the street.
The thing that is most unfortunate about it all is that the U.S. and the UK have surrendered their moral high ground on these kind of issues with their adventursist wars of the last half a century.

The best thing that the world can and should do is stop buying goods marked 'made in china', we all know that. But if they did, wouldn't that simply throw another country into economic turmoil and have the Chinese people suffer? Don't get me wrong, i have every sympathy with the Tibetan people. Unfortunatley, in Tibet they have massive copper and lithium stockpiles (which you don't see advertised on the news) which makes them a very attractive proposition for the Chinese.
Their plight has been exposed to a world wide audience, but still governments do not help them, and they are the ones who have the power, not the citizens much as we might like to think. Even if we all boycotted chinese made goods, the US and Europe corporations would stillbuy from them to keep them afloat, beacause, at the end of the day china themselves buy from Eurpoe and the US, and any boycott would be crippling for the US and Europe.
Any way, thats my two penneth.

Like i said this will bring war with china you stupid primates, keep bringing the hype. The only reason the cia has been stirring up shit is because war crimes charges are already happening and this countries majority of people has no balls as they watch their reality tv.

People do get pulled from their beds at night but America calls it immigration reform. Where you invite slave labor into the country to work for pennies and then put them in slave concentration camps in the west, where they are still at.
You really need to see the political reasons why the politicians are using the Tibettans for their next plot. Politics and the people at the top ruling elite run the world not you little guys. And no america is not fine, it is getting moar tyrannical then evar before.

It's just a guess, but a well-informed guess. The Chinese don't really like their people reading about the Tibetan conflict and all forms of censorship are pretty rampant over there.
