About a half hour ago, I received an email from an eBay seller with over 1,000 feedback. I had sold him a baseball that I had signed by Alex Rodriguez after a game a few years ago (in his Texas days). I clearly stated that it did not come with a certificate of authentication, and made sure that the buyer understood. The ball sold for $110. I sent it, along with a thank you note for personalization purposes.
The message stated that the ball was a forgery, which it clearly was not. Unless A-Rod was not A-Rod when he signed the ball, it was genuine. Hell, it was after the game, so if the signature didn't look PERFECT it was probably because his hands were shaky from playing. Anyways, he insisted a full refund. The money was already in my bank account. I had zero feedback anyways. No huge loss to me, so I got an idea and set it into action. I would distance myself completely from my account.

I took the following steps:
- Started a new Gmail address with a different name/contact information.
- Changed my eBay email address to that new one.
- Changed my actual address to a fictional one for a fictional person
- I hadn't had my account for 30 days, but if I had, I would have changed my User ID.
- Changed my billing and shipping information.
- Ended all of my current (4) items.
- Requested to close my eBay account, stating billing problems with no additional comments.
- Closed my PayPal account, an immediate process.
- Closed my bank account, and transferred all of the funds into a buffer account, which was for overdraft.
- Withdrew the money from the ATM.
- Closed the buffer bank account, and opened two more to repeat the process again.
- Will deposit money into primary checking account Monday morning.
- Deleted the new email address.
