Threads image duplication filter

Hello,

i´ve tested a lot in the last days with the rules for the duplication filter on threads. Does the filter only hit for full post duplicates? For example same captions same video/photo? We´ve tried multiple attempts and it looks like duplicates get less views. BUT today we had some tests where duplicated posts from other accounts were copied 1 by 1 and still went veryyyy good (5-20k views). The accounts didnt have other relevant posts which couldve boosted those stats. So is the filter only for full posts? Is it even needed to spoof?

EDIT: Does a duplication filter even exist? Or does it only attack when you have the same pHash over like 100+ accounts? Or does it also hit on 1-2 accounts?

When you are referring to duplicate filter; anytime you post an image without changing the hash or meta data; the image can be detected as duplicate. That being said, make a change to those 2 things and add edits, and the posts should be fine to upload across multiple accounts.

Yeah, from what I've tested, it looks like the filter mainly targets exact duplicates—like same caption and media. Doesn't seem to mess with 1-2 account copies much, but if you're posting the same stuff on 100+ accounts, that's when it might hit. Spoofing might not even be needed unless you're going heavy on duplication.

Do normal jpegs even have metadata? We usually upload with fully cleared metadata. Should we add some?

Best is to have a few changes or a different angle to the image

from what people are seeing, yeah it seems way stricter on exact matches. same caption + same media = gets throttled fast.
once you change anything (caption order, hook line, crop, audio, timing) it usually slides through fine.
also threads feels inconsistent af right now, so some copied stuff still pops — especially on fresh / low-history accounts. spoofing doesn’t seem necessary unless you’re literally 1:1 reposting at scale.

I think that also account health/age in general is a big thing. We are trying the unspoofed content replicate on bigger (5-10 accs) scale now and on some accounts it works good but some accounts literally get 0 views on every post and before those posts they had normal views. So there must be anything behind it. I will look into it more into it
