Thousands of bad backlinks: disavow?

Hey guys,

My Wordpress site has been taken over by a hacker group, which created a bunch of articles and created thousands (31,000, to be exact) of backlinks pointing to them. I had to take down all the articles (there are actual clients visiting the site) and as a result I have thousands of backlinks from all kinds of domains (with domain ranks of 0-40 ish) pointing to 404 pages.

Now, to my question: what do I do?
1) Ignore the situation
2) Disavow all the fake backlinks
3) Disavow just the low DR fake backlinks
4) Create pages to replace the 404s

Would really appreciate your help and advice!!

WordPress site with well known credentials? Not moderated content?

If your ranking was drop - then you can disavow them.
If not - then no.
Google have good algorithm to detect such kind of activity.

It's a rather new site, so no credentials really. Not sure what you mean by moderated content.

NO - just you can continue to do everything as before.
