After lots of study and asking questions, I finally understand how CPA marketing works. I'm referring to the process of spying, landing pages, paying for ads, traffic sources, tracking etc. I have engaged in lower-level CPA for video game hacks, but I don't really consider it serious CPA marketing. In my humble opinion, anything where you spend less than $100/month can't be considered serious.

I have some observations about CPA marketing campaigns that I'd like to share. Please feel free to voice your disapproval.
  • CPA marketing needs money. If you're someone who feels pain losing $50+ daily on advertising for several days in a row, then you're better off doing something else e.g. drop shipping.
  • A few individuals with sufficient funds will run successful campaigns. Most of the guys who succeed are those who work for companies in teams where one or more individuals work on different aspects of marketing campaigns. These people have salaries independent of whether a campaign succeeds or not.
  • Just like stocks or commodity trading, things are stacked against the individual investor. One can easily spend thousands of dollars without making a profit.
  • If it was so simple, then the CPA companies would do it instead of getting us to do it.
  • Once you understand the basic steps of a marketing campaign, there's little that a guru with an expensive course can teach you. Many gurus out there find it easier to sell courses than to actually engage in actual marketing campaigns.
Do you agree?
